Unrefined shea shifts a little between harvests. Here's the honest range.
- Ingredients
- 100% unrefined shea butter. No fragrance, no preservatives, no carrier oils.
- Colour
- Ivory through to pale yellow. Shade varies slightly batch to batch — normal, not a fault.
- Scent
- Mild, nutty and earthy. It fades in most finished products and takes fragrance well.
- Texture
- Firm at room temperature, soft in the hand. If it goes grainy, melt it and cool it quickly.
- Storage
- Sealed, cool and dark. Good for roughly 12–24 months from dispatch.
- Sizes
- 250g, 500g, 1kg and 2kg, in resealable kraft pouches.

Common questions.
Is this raw or refined?
Raw and unrefined. It isn't bleached, deodorised or blended, which is why it keeps its natural colour and smell.
Does it smell?
Yes — mildly nutty and earthy. Most people stop noticing once it's whipped with oils, and it takes essential oils well.
Can I whip it?
Yes. Melt it gently, add your carrier oils, chill until it starts to set, then whip. Cooling it quickly keeps the texture smooth.
Can I use it in soap?
Yes, in both cold and hot process. Run your recipe through a lye calculator using shea's SAP value.
Can I use it on hair?
Yes — on its own as a sealant, or blended with lighter oils into a softer hair butter.
How fast do you dispatch?
Orders placed before 2pm on a working day go out the same day. Everything else the next working day.
What if something's wrong with my order?
Send us a photo. If it arrived damaged, smells rancid or isn't what we described, we'll post a replacement — you don't need to send anything back. If you've changed your mind and the pouch is still sealed, you can return it within 14 days for a full refund.
